Weed Brownies Recipe- How to Make Pot Brownies?

What would you rather pick – sinful binging on munchies after toking that big fat doobie or giving those edible their sweet-ass time to kick-in? Well, I’ll be happily shelling my pounds on edibles. (yeah, let them soak in)

Brownies are love for anyone who’s got a sweet tooth or likes the taste of cocoa, but weed brownies are my kinda jam (I’m being the voice of all the stoners out there)

The brownie with ‘stuff’ needs no introduction and, I’m here with a recipe on how to make pot brownies. The world is going through a lot these days (COVID-19 duh!) and baking is something which makes me happy.

So, how about wake and bake some weed brownies today? Sounds good, yeah?

How much weed do you need for brownies?

Well, if you don’t live nearby a dispensary or have no access to edibles, I would recommend making them from scratch because then you are the one who’s controlling the amount of pot that goes into the recipe.

Now, this isn’t some fruit and, doesn’t follow the law – the more, the merrier. Hence, the exact quantity matters. If you’re a beginner, 3mg of THC is more than enough for you to feel relaxed or creative, depending upon the strain that you choose.

If you’ve got readymade cannabutter can, you can follow the quantities mentioned on the pack. But, I am not a fan of canned things. I like to make one of my own. Check out my recipe of highly potent cannabutter.

Here’s how to measure the right quantity of weed for your brownies:

I had used 10 grams of Pennywise strain and 1 cup (128 grams approx.) of butter to make cannabutter. Now, Pennywise is one of the best strains to go with if you are a beginner. It contains equal amounts of CBD and THC, 7-8% approx.

If 1 gram of Pennywise contains 8% of THC, 10 grams would have 0.8 grams or 800mg of THC. So, 800mg of THC in 128 grams of butter. Here we are taking 1/4 cup of cannabutter (with ¾ cup of normal butter) to bake 9×12 inches of brownie. Which means our brwnie will have 200mg of THC. And, if you divide your huge brownie into 20 pieces, each piece will have 10 mg of THC and an equal amount of CBD.

Here’s the deal – if you are a beginner, further divide your brownies into halves such that each piece carries 5 mg of THC. Or you can make cannabutter using a strain with very less THC content, maybe, Charlotte’s Web, Harlequin, or Ringo’s Gift.

I repeat, do not take more than 15 milligrams of THC through an edible (even if you’ve got some Marley tolerance in you) because it will ruin cannabis and its experience for you.

Preparation before baking

If you’ve been following my recipes for a while, you would be aware of the cannabutter that I made. It mentions everything that you need to follow or prepare before-hand such as decarboxylating your weed and getting the most out of its potency.

The recipe that we are making today will give you a 9×12 inches potent brownie. While it would come out to be utterly delicious, do not eat more than one piece a day. I repeat, do not!

Also, if this is your first experience with edibles, let me tell you, wait for about one and a half hours for the high to kick in. It doesn’t happen within a snap. It depends on your metabolism and the rate at which your body digests the food. As soon as the brownies reach your gut and get churned, the effects would slowly take over.

I don’t mean to scare you or something but, adverse effects of ingesting too much THC include vomiting, sedation, motor impairment, agitation, anxiety, and even cardiac arrest.

Making weed brownies: The Recipe

Serving: 9×12 inch pan

Pot Brownie: Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of Cannabutter and 3/4 cup of normal butter
  • 2 cup of sugar
  • 1 ½ cup of all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Chocolate Icing (recipe below)

Pot Brownies: Directions

  • Preheat your microwave to 340-350˚ F. Grease your cake pan with cannabutter and leave aside.
  • Take all the eggs in a bowl and beat them slowly yet consistently. You can even use an electric mixer with paddle attachment for the same.
  • Start adding the cannabutter sticks in batches along with powdered sugar, beating the mixture for about good 15 minutes.
  • Take another bowl and add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt to it. Mix it well to break down all the lumps or granules that maybe present.
  • Add the egg mixture to this bowl while gradually beating. Thrown in the pecans and vanilla as well.
  • Tadaa! Your brownie batter is ready. Pour this into your greased pan. Tap a little to remove excess air bubbles.
  • Shove this into the microwave and bake until the edges start leaving sides. You can even poke in a toothpick to check if it’s completely cooked.
  • Take it out from the pan and let it cool down completely. Spread the icing and cut into 36 pieces of (3×4 inches)

How to make the chocolate icing for pot brownies?

In the same bowl of electric mixer, beat an egg with 1 cup sugar on low speed. Add half a cup of sugar and cocoa into the mixture while still beating it. Add one more cup of sugar, 2 tsp of cocoa powder, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and 2 tbsp of melted butter.

And, your icing is ready! Spread it over your brownie for a perfect Sunday treat. To make it even tastier, add strawberries, blackberries, or even choco chips to it. There are absolutely no limitations to that.

I would recommend you guys to have just half of the piece and share the other half with your homie (this way you won’t be going overboard ;))
