Strawberry Cough Describes Itself Perfectly
This Sativa-dominant Hybrid is roughly
80% Sativa (Erdbeer) and just
20% mixed with an unknown Indica rumored to come from North America. There is another line of Strawberry Cough, which Kyle Kushman grows for Buds and Roses LA, that is a clone-only cross between Strawberry Fields and Haze.
Strawberry Cough: Like A Batch of Wild Strawberries
Needless to say, Strawberry Cough was quick to win our hearts over. All it took was the 3.5 gram container being opened — and then came the intoxicating terpenoids. Once the aroma of sweet strawberries hits your nostrils you know you are in for a real treat.
The buds from the Strawberry Cough plant tend to be smaller in size, but pack a lot of potency in each and every hit. They are bright green in hue with really red hairs all over — just what you’d expect from a strain with strawberry in its name. The smell of sweet strawberries can be intoxicating. Take this scent, and multiply it exponentially by putting a fat bud in the grinder and giving it a few turns.
“It’s one of those marijuana strains that has such a distinct strawberry smell that you will never forget it. Great for people looking for an uplifting Hybrid.”
The name Strawberry Cough stems from the dense buds usually causing you to cough when the smoke expands in your lungs (and the obvious aroma of Strawberries). The smoke on the inhale was extremely smooth and the full of… you guessed it… more berries.
How Will The Strawberry Cough Strain Affect Me?
It was hard not to like the truly uplifting effects of this Sativa-like strain. It had heavy haze effects (mainly head), in that it takes away all of your anxieties without knocking you out.
Patients can expect clearheaded effects that will effectively remove all the anxiety and stress that is so ubiquitous in our daily lives today. A personal favorite of mine, I wish more dispensaries carried this classic strain.

About this Sativa Strain
For flavor & aroma cannabis connoisseurs, Strawberry Cough is the perfect sativa. Its smell transports you to strawberry fields and its taste is just as spellbinding, being sweet, spicy, and much like strawberries as well.
Its lineage is mostly unknown, with a story behind its mystery beginning with a breeder that goes by Kyle Kushman. Apparently, an unnamed breeder gifted Kyle with cannabis seeds from plants that grew in a strawberry field either in Connecticut or Vermont. He then cross bred these seeds with Original Haze (a mix of landrace sativas). From this, Strawberry Cough was born – a social cannabis favorite.
Its THC levels average at 13% and can go up to 18%. Its high is ideal for social occasions, often dulling fear and anxiety and leaving the consumer in a happier and more open state of mind. It creates a care-free attitude that can sharpen focus and the sense while also relieving minor aches throughout the body. It’s a great choice for daytime use as it induces a bit of energy and doesn’t fog the mind. Reviewers have noted this strain is great for increasing creativity and engaging in deep conversation – as well as eliminating writer’s block.
Strawberry Cough is a great strain for novice consumers, rarely inducing paranoia. Like any other cannabis strain, dry mouth and eyes are to be expected.
