One of the very first employees to join back in 1984, Simon Jan was head-hunted by the founder of East-West Seed, Simon Groot. While studying Plant Breeding at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, Simon Jan received a phone call from Simon Groot asking if he’d like to be at the very beginning of the East-West Seed journey as a plant breeder.
He was “very excited to be part of a company that had to be built up from scratch.” The right person for the right job, he has been a key part of the East-West Seed success story from the start.
