The Nike Air Jordan 15 OG ‘Stealth’ Is Cleared for Landing

Tinker Hatfield’s fighter jet-inspired design, the NIKE AIR JORDAN 15 OG ‘STEALTH’ , returns this weekend as part of the brand’s ‘Take Flight’ Pack.

Design nerds might be interested to learn that the inspiration for the silhouette came from the NASA-developed X-15 Fighter Jet that broke speed records. And staying true to the aerodynamic OG style, the 2017 iteration arrives dressed in a Black upper with an Anthracite midsole and Varsity Red on a tiny Jumpman logo and Prada-style red stripe. The stripe features the numbers ‘23.6.15’, which of course refer to Michael Jordan’s jersey number, his number of NBA titles, and the AJ model, respectively. The laceless upper is woven with Kevlar, which combines with full grain leather mudguards. The AJ15 also boasts an extended mesh tongue, which refers to the way Michael Jordan would stick out his tongue out whenever he played with his usual swagger.

This will be the third time the silhouette has dropped since its introduction around the 1990-2000 timeframe. The first retro made its appearance in an online-only exclusive in 2007, available only at the Air Jordan Flight Club website. This year, the NIKE AIR JORDAN 15 OG ‘STEALTH’ will return on SATURDAY 7 JANUARY . Click the banner below to check the release page containing full stockist information.
