According to ‘Steve Jobs’ biography which was written after his death in 2011, it was revealed that Steve Jobs had a history of taking drugs when he was a young adult.
In the biography, it’s written that Steve Jobs used to smoke cannabis once or twice a week for four years, that’s between 1973 and 1977.
This was after dropping out of college in 1972 after being a student there for barely six months.
It was during that time when he was seeking spiritual enlightenment with a Buddhism bias while at the same time being obsessed with programming to stage his career in technology.
However, he dropped the habit a year after founding Apple together with his friend Steve Wozniak in 1976 probably because the most demanding part of his life as a programmer who had to do everything was coming to an end.
However, marijuana wasn’t just the only drug that Steve Jobs used in his life because it was even documented in FBI files that for two years (1972-1974) he used a hallucinogenic drug called Lysergic acid diethylamide which is commonly known as LSD.
To him, it’s revealed that these drugs used to enable him expand the boundaries of his mind and knowledge, be creative and innovative and deal with the tedious task of coding though he wasn’t addicted to either.
It’s unfortunate that Neuroendocrine Cancer claimed his life 35 years after founding what became the most valuable company in the world.
