DOES CBD HELP WITH ANGER MANAGEMENT? Anger is generally said to be a state of mind, but this may erupt due to several underlying reasons like raised stress levels, depression, wrecked CBD and Anger Control Anger management is something that the majority of the population can probably benefit from. Many of us are quick to boil, which can cause many health problems. Anger control issues stem from a chemical imbalance in the brain, and there is a new way people are taking care of it; cannabidiol. What Anger and aggression can be difficult to manage, but perhaps CBD Oil can help you handle these emotions, as this blog explains.

DOES CBD HELP WITH ANGER MANAGEMENT?

Anger is generally said to be a state of mind, but this may erupt due to several underlying reasons like raised stress levels, depression, wrecked career, or anxiety in hip-hop artists. Anger is dangerous at times as it is a basic emotion that may have a proactive response to various situations.

This can also be a fight response for survival. For most of us anger is a short-term state of mind and post an outburst we can continue with our lives normally like everything was good and normal.

The situation may not be the same for others, especially for those suffering from anxiety. In some cases, anger may overtake an individual’s ability to think rationally and may lead to uncontrollably damaging actions. Hence it is very necessary that anger is always kept under control.

CBD is said to be an effective remedy against anger management and before understanding its effects, let us understand why anger issues occur.

What Causes Anger to Turn into a Disorder

Anger disorders differ in brutality, but one can easily recognize when anger issues turn problematic especially because of obvious behavioral variations.

If the incidences and severity of rage variates and starts to interfere with relations, routine at work, cause recurrent trouble with the authorities, and mental health problems start emerging, then it can be measured as a disorder.

Several reasons can lead to these variations arising from financial problems, stress, incitement from a continuous source and even long-lasting pain.

Apart from the external factors that cause anger, doctors also look for chemical disparities. The brain comprises three CAs ( catecholamines ) that are neurotransmitters that regulate the workings of the nervous system like emotions, reasoning, thinking, etc. These CAs are comparable yet each one has specific functions and a surplus or lack in epinephrine, dopamine, and norepinephrine can create anger disorders.

Dopamine

Dopamine regulates emotional replies and is vital for motor control and emotional learning. It controls cognitive working and the observation of change, while it aids in problem solving and compassion.

Low levels of dopamine make it difficult for an individual to think and concentrate. On the other hand, high levels lead to difficulty in processing information in the brain.

Epinephrine

Epinephrine is released in the body in response to excitement, nervousness, anxiety, and tension and initiates the “fight or flight” response in the body.

It further regulates heart rate, sleep and other metabolic functions. High levels of epinephrine cause anxiety, hyperactivity, and adrenal fatigue. Low levels of Epinephrine can lead to depression, continuous adrenal stimulation, lessened levels of the stress hormone- cortisol and dropped recovery rates from ailments.

Norepinephrine

Norepinephrine aids in focus and mood regulation while also enhancing memory and focus. Low levels of Norepinephrine may cause moodiness, anxiety and lack of concentration, while high levels may result in manic reactions like Bipolar Disorder.

In psychology terms there is no documented “anger disorder” but it is known through manic episodes, Intermittent Explosive Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder.

Anger Issues and Their Effects

Anger does not merely affect your mood or relationships. It can also severely affect your health and can make you a house of various stress related diseases like high blood pressure, heart diseases, and a deteriorated immune system.

Mental health illness causing depression and stress can also be a result of anger and may lead to other mental health issues like insomnia. A mixture of symptoms will create a lack of attentiveness, problems at work, and difficulties with relationships.

CBD and Anger Management

Cannabis has been used for generations for medicinal purposes – as a pain-relieving medicine, nausea reducer and even as sleep inducing medicine.

In the mid-1960s, researchers discovered the first cannabinoid in the cannabis plant. Ever since then the research on the benefits of this naturally available medicine is ongoing. The scientists have so far identified more than 80 individual cannabinoids and are investigating them for their possible symptom-reducing and disease-battling abilities.

CBD is a phytocannabinoid extracted from the hemp variety of the cannabis plant and has proven effective for individuals with anxiety or mood swings.

CBD calms the body and mind and does not have any hallucinatory effects like Marijuana, but has antipsychotic effects. Therefore it is advised to use CBD for better coping with your anger issues and mood swings.

There are various forms in which CBD is produced today — vapes, pills, gummies, sprays, tinctures, oils, creams and many more. Every CBD product has its own benefits. However, it is good to consult your doctor before starting to use any of these products.

Anger and The Endocannabinoid System

The endocannabinoid system (ECS), revealed by scientists in 1990, controls all the roles of the body. These comprise how fast our metabolic system works, the absorption of nutrients and sending out the correct amounts of CAs required to control anger and additional emotions.

The ECS also develops its own cannabinoids, with one of them closely relating to CDB. When CBD is absorbed or taken in by the body, the ECS uses the CBD to adjust any chemical disparities.

Two recent studies displayed how CBD pointedly lowered the stress levels in the members as well as improved their cognitive functions. Stress management is what helps in controlling anger and CBD has been proven as an active way to manage stress levels.

CBD’s Effects on Chronic Pain

Prickliness is often instigated by chronic pain. Discomfort or pain in the body is controlled by the chemical known as anandamide (AEA), often associated with THC.

CBD aids in blocking the enzymes that break down AEA, thereby, helping to extend its pain blocking effects. CBD also helps to raise the amount of AEA in the body and helps individuals who may be deficient in the chemical.

CBD Products For Anger Management

As per The Cannabis Radar , CBD tinctures and CBD oils are the most suited products for anger management as they have the quickest acting time and are said to be highly effective for prompt control of an incident where an outburst is forthcoming.

The reason being that they are rapidly absorbed by the blood, particularly if taken sublingually by placing underneath the tongue.

CBD capsules or pills have a slower absorbing time and are more apt for the long-term treatment of rage management since they have long lasting effects. Always favor high-quality CBD products and if uncertain about dosage ask your doctor/physician.

Wrap Up

Anger management can be problematic to normalize without help. Handling the source of anger is necessary and additionally a visit to your psychologist will help you comprehend where it’s sourcing from.

However, irrespective of whether that source is internal or external, select a CBD product from a trusted brand like CBdistillery that best suits you to help with active control of your anger and overcome all the problems that anger puts in the way of work and relations. CBD and Anger Management

Anger management is something that the majority of the population can probably benefit from. Many of us are quick to boil, which can cause many health problems. Anger control issues stem from a chemical imbalance in the brain, and there is a new way people are taking care of it; cannabidiol.

What Is Cannabidiol

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical that comes from the hemp plant. It interacts with your endocannabinoid system (ECS) by helping it keep regulated. Since CBD interacts with pathways and proteins and doesn’t connect to the brain like THC does, there are no psycho-active properties to this chemical. This means you can enjoy the health benefits without having to have the “high” feeling if you don’t want it.

CBD is an amazing chemical because of its interacting with the ECS. By regulating this system, it is helping regulate the majority of your body. This includes mental and physical states. CBD can’t cure absolutely everything, but with more and more research, it’s getting pretty close.

The Endocannabinoid System And Anger

The ECS is a system that regulates your body. It sends out the right neurotransmitters so you can react appropriately, and it tells your body how fast to metabolize to make sure you absorb the right amount of nutrients in the food you eat. However, if your ECS isn’t functioning properly, you can get symptoms like sensitivity to anger.

One abnormality that plagues patients that are dealing with anger problems is the imbalance of Catecholamines (CA). CA are neurotransmitters in your brain that mediate a lot of the central nervous system functions. This includes:

  • Memory Processing
  • Emotion
  • Cognition
  • Motor Control
  • Endocrine Modulation
    • Which is what gets those hormones into your nervous system

Having too much or not enough catecholamines can result in disorders , including ones that have poor anger management as symptoms like PTSD.

There are three main catecholamines: Dopamine, Epinephrine, and Norepinephrine. Each of these has a lot in common, but they all have different jobs to do.

    Dopamine
    • Essential for motor control and emotional learning
    • Low Dopamine: Hard to think and focus
    • High Dopamine: Overload in the brain making it hard to for it to process information
    • Helps with emotional responses
    • Moderates cognitive functioning
    • Helps with problem solving and sensitivity
    • Controls the perception of change
    Epinephrine
    • Adrenaline drive or “Fight or Flight” response
    • Released during times of anxiety, excitement, fear, or other responses to stress
    • Regulates functions such as metabolism, sleep, and heart rate
    • Too much can look like
      • Anxiety
      • Hyperactivity
      • Adrenal Fatigue
      • Depression
      • Not enough cortisol the stress hormone
      • Difficulty recovering from illness
      • Persistent adrenal stimulation
      Norepinephrine
      • Improves memory and focus
      • Helps with attention and mood
      • Not enough can look like
        • Inability to focus
        • Anxiety
        • Moodiness

        Anger Management With CBD

Knowing more about where anger stems from, it makes it easier to figure out what to target to make it easier to handle. Anger is the response to stress, creating hostility, irritability, and even rage. By targeting your brain’s anxiety, you can work on dealing with your anger.

        CBD and Anxiety

When you let CBD into your body, it begins to search through your body like a flat tire. It finds the holes and inconsistencies and tries to fix them. If you have a chemical imbalance that is associated with the Endocannabinoid System, taking CBD can help regulate that imbalance .

During a study that had 400 people, they administered placebos and hemp oil medication. Of the people who received the CBD, their stress levels were significantly lower than the group with the placebos. There was also a study on people with social anxiety, who were put under social stress while being given CBD medications. Those who took the CBD had better cognitive functioning as well as lower stress levels. The subjects that didn’t take CBD had higher alert levels , which is very common in people with anger management problems.

They have even discovered that by using hemp oil, you can help calm your overactive brain by regulating your neurotransmitters. They found that when treated with CBD , your reactions to situations that elicit fear or panic are much less severe . This gives you the ability to think clearly during moments of panic, which are quite often in the minds that are battling anger management.

        More Than Just Anxiety

Many people have anger problems because of the pain they are in. You might not think of it right away, but people with chronic pain build up irritability. Luckily, if you are angry because of pain, CBD can help with that too!

CBD raises the level of a chemical in your body that regulates your pain called anandamide (AEA). This is also known as the body’s own brain produced THC. CBD blocks enzymes that break down AEA , which prolongs the effects making pain management a little easier. Hemp oil medications also elevate the level of already existing AEA , helping those with deficiencies receive the internal pain management they deserve.

CBD Oil for anger management and aggression

Anger and aggression are complex emotions. They can arrive in sudden, powerful surges that are hard to control. If you have ever experienced an anger outburst or a fit of aggression, you’re not the first. Angry and aggressive tendencies are common in our busy societies full of triggers and high stress environments. Still anger can have serious and unintended consequences. This is why many people look for ways to keep their emotions in check. This blog explores the potential of CBD Oil to control your anger and aggression.

What can CBD Oil do against aggression and anger?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a natural cannabinoid compound produced by hemp plants. Just like the cannabinoids produced by your own body, CBD can interact with our internal endocannabinoid system (ECS). Our ECS is responsible for regulating a broad range of important physiological processes that keep the body running.

The endocannabinoid system uses cannabinoids to do so. These compounds act as messengers, relaying signals that cause cells to adjust their activity. This enables the ECS to influence processes such as digestion, blood pressure, rhythms of sleep and waking, and our emotions. If the ECS loses its balance, problems can arise. It can upset your emotions and increase the likelihood of angry outbursts.

People who struggle with aggression and anger issues often have fluctuating catecholamine levels. Catecholamines act as neurotransmitters. They are important for proper neural functioning and affect emotions, learning, motor functions, and hormonal regulation. By means of the ECS, you can try using CBD Oil to influence these neurotransmitters, which could help gain greater control over angry and aggressive emotions.

        Consequences of catecholamine unbalance

High or low catecholamine levels can cause problems including poor anger management and emotional outbursts. Three of the most important catecholamines are:

        • Dopamine;
        • Adrenaline;
        • Noradrenaline

Although these substances are similar in structure, they fulfil different roles in the body.

        Dopamine

Dopamine is critical for motor function and affective learning. If dopamine levels drop below a critical threshold, concentrating and cognition become compromised. Excess dopamine levels complicate information processing.

        Adrenaline

Adrenaline drives our fight or flight response. A lack of adrenaline can cause depression, fatigue, and lack of focus.

Too much adrenaline can cause feelings of severe stress, headaches, sleeping problems, hyperactivity, and a sense of restlessness.

        Noradrenaline

Noradrenaline is similar in function to adrenaline and is also involved in stress responses. Optimal noradrenaline levels support good memory, concentration, and mood. If noradrenaline levels rise too high, concentrating becomes difficult and anxiety may set in.

Can CBD Oil affect anger and aggression?

When you become angry, several things happen at once in your body. You initiate a fight or flight response as adrenaline and noradrenaline levels rise rapidly. This builds a sense of tension and excitement both at the physical and psychological level.

If your ECS is out of balance and your stress hormone levels run too high, it is easy to get caught up in such a rising state of fight or flight anger and aggression. You won’t need much to trigger an emotional outburst. Fortunately, CBD Oil has natural calming, soothing properties that can help control the anger and aggression in cases like these.

Studying CBD Oil for anger and aggression

In recent years, CBD Oil has been getting a lot of scientific attention – and with good reason, we might add. Studies indicate that its naturally soothing, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties have lots to offer for various conditions. CBD supplements can be a source of natural support for a range of mental, physical, and emotional problems.

This accounts for the potential benefits of using CBD Oil to support anger and aggression management. Its relaxing properties can help to stay calm by keeping mental and physical tension within tolerable limits. CBD can give you just the support you need to keep it cool and maintain your grip on those angry impulses.

Research into CBD Oil for anger and aggression is still in its early stages. However, initial results indicate that CBD can be a very positive contribution. In 2001, Niederhoffer et al. investigated the relationship between CBD and adrenaline and noradrenaline levels. Their study demonstrated that CBD managed to reduce adrenaline in rodent subjects.

External events are often enough to trigger sudden angry feelings, and even fits of rage. Still, anger and aggression issues can also result from mental conditions including depression, excessive stress, and anxiety. Such conditions can have a lasting impact on neurotransmitter and hormone levels in the body.

Using CBD Oil to manage aggression and anger issues can improve the regulation of hormonal and neurotransmitter production and metabolism. This in turn can have positive effects on levels of anandamide (the ‘bliss hormone’) and serotonin, both of which produce a sense of satisfaction and acceptance of situations that might otherwise make us angry. If your emotional state gets nudged in the direction of such a calm, stable state, it often becomes easier to keep angry, negative impulses in check, even in challenging situations.

New breakthroughs in studying CBD Oil and anger?

In 2019, while studying the effects of CBD Oil on anger and aggression in mice, a Brazilian research team made a remarkable discovery. At São Paulo’s Ribeirão Preto Medical School, male specimens were first isolated for a ten-day period. Subsequently, they were subjected to a test in which an intruder (another, unfamiliar mouse) was let into their accommodation.

The expected response was open hostility, in which the resident male would attack the newcomer. However, mice that had received CBD displayed less aggressive behaviour, represented by fewer attacks on the visiting rodents. “Our investigations show that cannabidiol can indeed curb aggression”, as local professor Francisco Silveria Guimarães explained.

As it turned out, mice that had not received CB attacked newcomers within two minutes of arrival on average, carrying out 20 to 25 attacks in total. Mice that did receive CBD (5mg/kg), however, would only start attacking after four minutes, carrying out only 10 attacks in total. Mice in the 15mg/kg CBD group were even less aggressive. They would only attack after 11 minutes, with an average of just 5 attacks per trial.

Silveria Guimarães explains the effect of CBD Oil on anger and aggression by its ability to activate two separate cell receptors. One, called the 5-HT1A receptor, is responsible for the effects of serotonin. The other is the CB1 receptor, which is essential for the effects of endocannabinoids (cannabinoids produced by our own body).
